Would Tasmania tours appeal to you?

Maybe you want to visit beautiful places in Tasmania and experience the top attractions of this extraordinary island. But you don't have the time to work out where to go or what to do.

Or perhaps you do know where you want to go and what to but you don't have time to organise getting to those places and doing those things.

Never fear, there are professionals who can work it all out for you.

What's great about touring

When jumping on a tour, all you need to do is:

  • find out what tours are on offer
  • look at prices
  • see if your preferred tours work in with your budget and your schedule

and you're practically on your way!

Always make sure to book tours in advance. Often you will find that, either they get booked out, or with some tours, the operators need to gauge interest before they can even confirm the tours will take place. Sometimes those tours are the ones that you don't want to miss. They may go to out-of-the-way places that are not easy to get to. So for those tours, organisers need to confirm interest in advance.

There's nothing wrong with the tours which go to the much-visited places either. Joining a city tour or one that visits a popular attraction is a great way to visit a place you have always wanted to see.

On tours, you will often pick up some fascinating nuggets of information from your tour guide

You also get to meet fellow travellers who have always got valuable travel tales to tell. I like getting to speak to everyone on the bus and asking them what they would most recommend or what has been their biggest gotcha so far.

For example, they might tell you that there's an out-of-this-world beach just past that famous tourist beach that everyone flocks to. Or they may advise that it's best to visit a certain attraction at a particular time when it's less crowded so you have more of the place to yourself, and more of the guide's time.

I've gathered information on a few tour operating organisations, should you be interested.

Whatever your plans, do consider joining a tour or two. You never know what you might discover!
